1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Synapse (the “Service”), including the Synapse website, dashboard, and the companion iOS application. By creating an account, subscribing, or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a business, you represent that you are authorized to bind that business.
2. The Service
Synapse provides hardware-diagnostic tooling for Apple devices and issues verifiable test certificates. Certificates report the results of automated and guided checks at the time of testing; they are an aid to inspection and do not constitute a warranty or a guarantee of a device’s present or future condition.
3. Accounts and teams
You are responsible for safeguarding your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Business plans may include multiple technician seats; the account owner is responsible for the teammates they invite and for keeping seat usage within the plan limit. You must provide accurate information and promptly update it as needed.
4. Subscriptions and billing
Business plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through our payment processor, Stripe. Each billing period your plan’s monthly check allowance is provisioned to your team’s shared credit pool. Unless stated otherwise, allowances reset each period and do not roll over. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and access continues until then. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to circumvent credit or seat limits, reverse-engineering certificate verification, reselling access without authorization, or using the Service to misrepresent a device’s condition. You are responsible for complying with all laws applicable to your resale or repair business.
6. Certificates and accuracy
Diagnostic results depend on the device, its software, and the testing environment. While we strive for accuracy, the Service is provided for informational purposes and you remain responsible for your own inspection and disclosures to your customers. A refunded purchase may invalidate the associated certificate.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, and the Synapse marks, is owned by Synapse: Device Check and its licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service during your subscription. Apple, iPhone, and related marks are trademarks of Apple Inc.; Synapse is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Synapse: Device Check will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, and our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or to comply with law. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above, and your continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance.
