Synapse
How it works

How to test, certify, and resell a used iPhone.

Synapse gives every technician the same inspection flow, then turns the result into a certificate buyers can verify.

The workflow

One process. Three outcomes.

Test, certify, and resell — a repeatable flow the whole team follows, so quality stays consistent no matter who is at the bench.

  1. 01

    Test

Run the full 50-point hardware inspection on the device. Every result is measured on-device, not estimated.

  2. 02

    Certify

The run becomes a verifiable, tamper-evident certificate with a clear result and a scannable reference.

  3. 03

    Resell

Attach the certificate to the listing so buyers can confirm condition before they commit.

Step 1 · Test

Run the full hardware inspection.

Plug the iPhone in and run the 50-point inspection. Every result is measured on the device, not estimated — so the record reflects what the hardware actually does.

Step 2 · Certify

Turn the run into a certificate.

The inspection becomes a server-issued, tamper-evident certificate. It shows non-identifying device facts only — never personal data — so it is safe to share with any buyer.
  • Non-identifying device facts only
  • No personal data ever shown
  • Server-issued and tamper-evident
  • Verifiable with a scannable reference

Step 3 · Resell

Attach proof to the sale.

Add the certificate to your listing so buyers can verify condition before they commit. Proof of a documented inspection does the convincing for you.
  • Reduces uncertainty for the buyer
  • Supports consistent grading across the team
  • Helps buyers trust the listing
  • Creates a defensible inspection record

FAQ

How it works — common questions

Testing, certifying, and reselling a used iPhone with Synapse.

How do I test a used iPhone before reselling it?

Run the Synapse 50-point inspection on the device. It checks display and touch, the wide, ultra-wide, telephoto, and front cameras, speakers and microphones, sensors and biometrics, buttons and haptics, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and cellular, battery health, Find My and activation-lock status, and wipe verification — all measured on-device.

What does a certified check produce?

Each certified check produces a tamper-evident certificate with a clear result and a scannable reference. The certificate travels with the device, so buyers can verify condition without taking your word for it.

Does the certificate show any personal information?

No. A certificate shows non-identifying device facts only — model, iOS version, capacity, pass and fail counts, inspection date, validity, and result. No personal data is ever included.

Can my whole team follow the same process?

Yes. Every technician runs the same inspection flow under one organization. Owners and admins manage roles and invite technicians by email, and the whole team draws from one shared credit pool that refills each billing period.

Where can I attach the certificate when I sell?

Add the scannable reference to your listing on eBay, Swappa, Back Market, Mercari, Facebook Marketplace, or a wholesale lot. Buyers scan it to confirm the device passed a documented inspection before they commit.
